Holliday Grainger talks about Rob and "Bel Ami" ...

Spoilers...
at least for the one who havn't read the book... ;)

Speaking with Collider, Holliday Grainger mentioned Robert Pattinson and Bel Ami:

Can you talk about the roles you did in Jane Eyre and Bel Ami, which you also have coming out this year? GRAINGER: When I was younger, I always wanted to do period drama and never got to do it, until last January. And then, this last year was just period drama after period drama. I have a small part in Jane Eyre. I’m one of the Rivers sisters that saves Jane (Mia Wasikowska) from destitution. They’re a very lovely, very godly, very pure family. Bel Ami is the opposite. My character is more like Lucrezia. She’s an evil little witch that knows what she wants and is out to get the guy that she wants. She’s willing to upset her mom and upset anyone, just to get the guy that she wants.
Did you get to work with Robert Pattinson?
GRAINGER: Yeah, my character’s scenes are mainly with Rob ‘cause she marries him in the end. She does get him.

Sam Bradley talks about Rob in a new interview

At 1:53 and 6:33. If the video doesn't work, you can watch at the source
...

SG: So your musical beginnings were friends and family-based, and then so were your first big steps out into wider acclaim—outside London, out into the world, with your schoolmate Robert (Pattinson)…

SB: It’s still all friend-based. I don’t work with anyone that isn’t a friend. My band, my booking agent, my manager… Everyone I want to work with, I want to have a relationship that is stronger than just work. As far as the connection with Rob, he’s a friend—that’s it. There’s no special story. The special story is in our friendship. That’s it. There’s nothing grand about it. I got a song on this Twilight soundtrack—that opened up a bigger audience than I was ready for, perhaps, and then it was up to me to keep the music-lovers, and expand and grow on and through and past and with that.

SG: I can’t let you go and not go back to Rob for one final question, but I don’t want to get you into any trouble…
SB: You can’t get me into trouble. I can get me into trouble.

SG: Good point. But I’ll try not to lead you into any trouble.
SB: That’s fine, because I can deflect. I’ve been doing it for years.

SG: I bet you have. You’ve been mates for a long, long time. As surreal as life must be for him, which is up way up there, you have seen that from one step removed, and you have a sense of what that means as you’re an artist on the road connecting with people as well although maybe not quite to the “Beatles running down the street in ‘Help’” thing that he’s been going through. What does that leave you thinking? From what you’ve seen from him, what impact does that have on you? Does that end up being a blessing—you get to see how that can be from a pseudo-safe distance?
SB: If I thought about it and if I dissected it in any way, that wouldn’t be a healthy thing. It just is. There’s no difference in anything I do. There’s no difference in anything he does. There’s no difference in anything any friend I have, whether it be my wife… It just doesn’t make a difference. I’m gonna keep doing what I’m gonna do. Robert Pattinson is going to keep doing what he’s gonna do. Tom Sturridge is gonna keep doing what he’s gonna do. Bobby Long is gonna keep doing what he’s gonna do. Marcus Foster is gonna keep doing what’s he’s gonna do. Angus McNeice is gonna keep doing what he’s gonna do. Anyone I know are gonna do what they’re gonna do, and that’s not changed anything.

Water for Elephants on Box Office Mojo’s 2011

 ”Preview: Ten Miscellaneous Contenders” List...

Photobucket

From Box Office Mojo:
While sequels, remakes, comic book adaptations and animated movies will inevitably dominate 2011's box office, there will still be a few hits that don’t fall in to any of these categories. In 2009, there was Avatar, The Hangoverand The Blind Side, and in 2010 there was Inception. Here’s a look at ten of the contenders, including three high-profile book adaptations, a few alien invasion movies, a potential Twilight successor or two and some wholly original wild cards.
...
Water for Elephants (April 22): It’s easy to dismiss Robert Pattinson as just part of the Twilight craze thanks to the poor box office performance of Remember Me last March. However, his next movie Water for Elephants is poised to be much more successful: it’s helmed by blockbuster director Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend), has interesting co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz and is based on a reportedly popular book.

You can check out the rest of the list here.

Bobby Long's A Winter Tale...

Long is a shy, serious Brit who should appeal to fans of John Mayer and Mumford & Sons. A Winter Tale's lyrics can tend toward the impenetrable, but his old-before-his-time romanticism and strong rasp are real draws. White Stripes producer Liam Watson sometimes frames the folkiness with a scorching full band and sometimes lets Long’s acoustic mystery be.

Bobby Long's A Winter Tale will be available February 1, 2011.

Robert Pattinson gets a new stalker, Paul Giamatti...

... Surprised

Earlier this week, Paul Giamatti was at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to support his film, "Win Win," a title that also aptly describes another flick the recent Golden Globe-winner has on his horizon: "Cosmopolis."

Why is "Win Win" so fitting a description of Giamatti's participation in "Cosmopolis"? Well, he gets work with director David Cronenberg and Robert Pattinson, of course!
After Giamatti, who stood with his "Win Win" costar Bobby Cannavale, admitted he was "not sure" when production on "Cosmopolis" would come together, there was one thing that was certain: he'd get to work with the "dreamiest man alive."

"I get to stalk him," a deadpan Giamatti said of getting to work on a set with R-Pattz.
While Giamatti (who also divulged to MTV about his part in the highly anticipated "Hangover 2") said he hasn't yet met Pattinson he claimed (though quite possibly tracing the slightest hint of sarcasm there) to have seen the "Twilight" films.

As Pattinson explained to MTV News recently, he signed onto the project "basically because of Cronenberg." "I said yes as soon as he called," he added. "It's scary, though. It's an interesting script."

"Cosmopolis," based on the novel of the same name by Don DeLillo, is about a billionaire asset manager (Pattinson) who has a very bizarre day in Manhattan. Marion Cotillard was originally set to play Pattinson's wife in the film, but has since dropped out of the project. Kiera Knightley is now being rumored to take over the part.

Josh : Ah oui vraiment ? L'avez vous rencontré ? Avez vous vu les films Twilight ?
Paul : Tout à fait (rires)
Article accompagnant la vidéo
"Robert Pattinson sera "traqué" pendant Cosmopolis" dit Paul Giamatti

Robert Pattinson in Jeff Buckley's Biopic is "Funny", says producer

...

Ooh well... what can I say... Photobucket
The past few days have seen some pretty ridiculous music movie stories circulating, which should serve as a general reminder to bloggers everywhere of a rule that you can’t forget: if the story sounds too good to be true and originates from the British press, triple check your sources. Especially when it’s an old rumor.

Making the rounds recently was a report from UK paper The Daily Express that Robert Pattinson was going to play the late singer Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic. The quotes originated from an unknown Hollywood insider and worse, this rumor isn’t even new—it first popped up back in 2009. We reached out to one of the producers on the gestating film who told us “I did see [the U.K. report], it’s pretty funny.” So sorry, RPatz lovers, he won’t be crooning “Hallelujah” on your prom night anytime soon.

New/Old video of Robert Pattinson during New Moon promo... (better quality)

Interview de Ciné-Cinéma (pour Canal Plus) ...

Here's a 10 minute video of Robert Pattinson being interviewed during the New Moon European promo tour, by Canal Plus, for Ciné-Cinéma...
I've already posted this itv, but this one is in a much much better quality...
Ok, I know, French (translation) is still really really present... so I'll post again the transcript...
ENJOY...!

Translation by Libenet
Interviewer : "What I saw outside (the hotel) is crazy! I've seen that for Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt...May be Leonardo Dicaprio. But it's really rare. What I want to know is how do you deal with all that. You are so young (23)..How do you keep calm and cool?"

Rob: " It's not easy. I always try to separate my personal and private lives. I remind myself all the time that the fans, the press..are all here for the character, not for me. It's a kinda "ego saving reflex". Actually, it's very nice, but when you're facing all these fans, you just don't know what to do to satisfy them."

Interviewer: "Yeah, but don't actors do this job for that? To be loved and admired?"

Rob: "I guess yes. In some way. But with Twilight, something amazing happened. I've become some kind of celebrity, even though when I started out, I didn't think I was that interesting as a person. And so I just wanted to play deep characters that would enrich me, psychologically."

Then they talk about the similarities between being a vampire and being an actor. The way they both depend on others, and need others to go on.

He asks Rob what he likes about vampires, and Rob says "The 'superhero' aspect. They're like semi-god, but, in the same time, they depend so much on very regular people. On what's deeply basic in ppl; their blood."

Interviewer: "It's really funny to see you talk about vampires, because I just dicovered this other movie (How to be) where you play a completely different character. I was wondering which part of you, as a person, is in this movie, or in the Twilight movie?"

Rob:" Not much. Actually I've never played a role where I can really be myself. As an actor, you think, with every role, that you'll be able to give the character sthg from yourself, your experience. But the more you try to do that, the more you realize, with every single scene, that it's coming out very differently from how you expected it, or how you intended it."

Interviewer : "It's really good to see you smile in the beginning of the movie (New Moon). You seem happy, then you disappear for most of the movie. Wasn't it frustrating for you to be absent ?"

Rob: "No. Actually, it was very nice in many ways. Twilight (1st movie) has had so much success, so we had a lot of pressure, and it would have been impossible to make the exact same movie (focused on Edward/Bella). And, also, I didn't want to be the center of this movie, didn't want to have too many responsibilities in it. Taylor got the big part of it. Which is good. Plus, I get to experiment a new angle; I'm more like a ghost, a shadow, which is stronger. Like a myth or something."

Interviewer: "How did you play that? Did you talk to the author? Or get instructions from your director?"

Rob: "I think what influenced me the most, was my first meeting with Kristen. I imagined someone completely different for the role of Bella. But Kristen/Bella was so strong. So, for this relationship to work out, I thought (back in the casting) that I had to be as strong, but also a bit fragile and somehow broken. Which is very interesting to play. And I have to thank Kristen for that."

Interviewer: "How would you describe Kristen, in three words?"

Rob: "She's so strong. (He pauses and laughs) I'm trying to be careful what I say. She's mature, and very challenging."

Robert Pattinson as Jeff Buckley would be excellent casting...

can't agree more with MTV Newsroon ... ;)

It's not the first time that the name of one of the hottest young actors in the world has been linked to one of the most iconic musicians of the past 20 years, but it has been brought up again. The Daily Express is reporting that Robert Pattinson (star of the "Twilight" series as well as the upcoming "Water for Elephants") is lobbying hard to play late singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley in a biopic about the iconic musician's life (and one of the film's producers has acknowledged that he has indeed expressed interest, along with the likes of James Franco and Jared Leto).

Buckley, who passed away in 1997 before he could complete his second album, is a much-beloved artist whose debut album Grace is largely considered to be one of the finest of the end of the 20th century. His music was full of gorgeous melody and dynamic energy shifts that centered on his incredible, gentle voice. Though 1994's Grace is a stone cold classic as a full album, Buckley's lasting legacy in music is his version of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," which has been copied repeatedly and is largely considered the definitive version of the song (even more than Cohen's original).

Pattinson would make an excellent Buckley, as not only does he physically resemble the singer, but he also possesses the same kind of ethereal vibe that Buckley carried. His popularity was mainly rooted in his music, but he also had a mysterious quality that made him a fascinating character. Can Pattinson sing as well as Buckley? There's no evidence to suggest that he can. However, it seems like the man who breathed life into Edward Cullen can handle the moody, romantic vibe that Buckley gave off. Take a look at this performance of "Forget Her" (recorded during the Grace sessions but not released until 2004) and see if you can't picture Pattinson sliding into that role.

Of course, the other named mentioned on the short list for the role would probably work well also, though everybody else seems to be flawed in some way. Franco has probably played too many iconic roles to play Buckley (he's created so many great fictional characters that it'd be hard to accept him as playing a real person) and James Marsden (of "X-Men" fame) doesn't have that same air of mystery. Leto would probably be a good choice, as he has the musical chops to go with his left-field approach to performances.

Richard Phillips shares the concept behind Rob's 'Most Wanted' painting!

....

Richard Phillips’s style has always been pop, but his new show, “Most Wanted,” opening January 27 at White Cube in London, pushes this preoccupation further than ever before. Comprising ten large-scale oil paintings of current celebrities over conspicuously luxury-branded backdrops, “Most Wanted” stands as a visually arresting commentary not only on fame but on American culture itself. The Massachusetts-born, New York-based painter screen-printed photographs onto 8’ x 6.5’ canvases, then covered the faces with oil paint. Included in the series are Zac Efron, Chace Crawford, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, and the centerpiece, Robert Pattinson.
“I decided I would begin where Warhol and pop art left off...After holding a contest within my studio to find the best red carpet face from the constant river of images, a composite was made from the best of the best of Pattinson’s expressions. The colorful and detailed Louis Vuitton background was to suggest a fictitious brand endorsement context that was commensurate with his position as the most popular member of the group. The difficulty became not how to render his face so he could be seen, but how to paint his presence so he could be inescapably felt when standing in front of the painting. My painting of Robert Pattinson began to fulfill its intention of giving pause, to question our relationship to the constant appearance and simultaneous dismissal of our disembodied selves in relation to a system that generates a forced intimacy with commercially enforced exceptionalism.”

“Most Wanted” is on display in London until March 5.

Robert Pattinson wants Jeff Buckley Role

and the rumour re surface...
and you know what... I SO SO want it to be true...! Photobucket

"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson has his heart set on landing the role of Jeff Buckley, one of his musical icons. While Pattinson is busy scheduling film roles after his "Breaking Dawn" duties are done, this particular role is special to him.
Robert Pattinson is very talented. At times it seems the hysteria of his popularity and the "Twilight Saga" overshadow Pattinson's musical and acting abilities. However, now that "Breaking Dawn" filming is close to ending, Rob is reported to want the role of Jeff Buckley. Buckley, one of Pattinson's musical inspirations, tragically drowned at the age of 30.
"Rob is obsessed with this project and is doing everything he can to land the part," a source told OK Magazine. While fans love seeing Rob in different roles that showcase his acting chops, a musical role would be perfect. Pattinson is an amazing singer, and even had two songs on the "Twilight" soundtrack.
"He has already told his business team this is his passion and they agree it could be the film that makes him a legitimate Oscar contender," revealed the source. However, Rob will have his work cut out for him. It is rumored that other actors up for the part include the very talented Johnny Depp and Ryan Gosling. However, it seems that Robert Pattinson would not only fit well for the role of Jeff Buckley, but also be a big crowd pleaser, as he woud bring his many fans out to the box office.

Petite traduc, de moi, par moi... lol...
alors soyez indulgent...
