Marcus Foster announces New Album, Single...

and UK Tour ...
 Photobucket
It seems this album has been on the cards for a long time, and now finally we have a firm release date and lots of lovely details.

Marcus' album, "Nameless Path" will be released by Communion/Poldor records on the 26th of September. We have had a sneaky listen over here at The Ruckus, and can assure you it is a thing of beauty. I've been seeing Marcus play for nearly two and a half years now, and have watched his progression from folky singer feeling his way in music armed only with a guitar, to front man of a band who knows where he is going and what it is going to sound like.

The album will be preceded by a single, released a week before the album, which will happily be one of my favourite tracks from the album, "I Was Broken". It is not a track Marcus has often performed live, but it seems to be a fan favourite none the less.

Marcus will also take his band and album on tour in October, after a summer filled with festivals. It is his biggest UK headline tour to date, which is pretty exciting. You'll be able to catch him at these places:
  • 22nd July – Truck Festival, Oxford
  • 23rd July – Deershed Festival, Thirsk
  • 24th July – Secret Garden Party
  • 29th July – Camp Bestival, Dorset
  • 13th August – FireFly Festival, Shropshire
  • 20th August – Greenman Festival, Brecon Beacons
  • 11th September – Bestival, Isle of Wight
  • 1st October – Bodega, Nottingham
  • 2nd October – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
  • 4th October – King Tuts, Glasgow
  • 5th October – Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh
  • 6th October – The Cluny 2, Newcastle
  • 7th October – The Deaf Institute, Manchester
  • 8th October – The Rainbow, Birmingham
  • 9th October – The Portland Arms, Cambridge
  • 11th October – Thekla, Bristol
  • 12th October – Dingwalls, London
Make sure you get out and see him if you can, and look out for a more detailed review of the album from one of us Londoners closer to the release.
In the mean time, here is Marcus's last single, Rushes and Reeds, for you to enjoy:
