Oh mon Dieu, j'en ai les doigts qui tremblent et le coeur qui bat encore la chamade : on vient d'apprendre de source sûre que Robert Pattinson - LE Robert Pattinsonqui fait tourner les têtes de toute la planète depuis qu'il a montré ses crocs dans Twilight - Chapitre 1 : Fascination - sera à Cannes le mardi 19 mai !!! Avec un crochet au Grand Journal de Canal +, et un passage obligé sur les Marches !

On prévoit déjà émeutes, raz de marée et camion de mouchoirs parce que ça va être la tempête - que dis-je, le tsunami Pattinson qui va faire bouger la Croisette la semaine prochaine. Vous n'êtes pas sur place ?

Robert Pattinson, Hugh Jackman To Star In 'Unbound Captives'

'Robert said yes last fall, before everything broke with 'Twilight,' actress/director Madeleine Stowe says.

Actors Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz and Robert Pattinson have all had their share of buzz this May, with Jackman and Weisz lining up multiple movie deals in the past two weeks, and Pattinson continuing to ride the "Twilight" wave. Now all three are lending their star power to the writing and directorial debut of actress Madeleine Stowe for her period drama, "Unbound Captives."

"Captives" is a tale set in 1865 America about a woman (played by Weisz) whose husband is killed by a Comanche war party and whose two children (one of whom will be played by Pattinson) are kidnapped. She is then rescued by a frontiersman (Jackman).
Stowe penned the script under the pseudonym O.C. Humphrey in 1993, hoping to play the lead role herself. According to Variety. Fox offered her $3 million, then raised the offer to $5 million, one of the highest offers ever made to a first-time screenwriter.
Ridley Scott was interested in directing and Russell Crowe wanted to star, but the actress turned down that offer because there was no promise that she would be involved beyond a screenwriter's credit.
"There are moments in life where you need to follow your heart. The script remained my singular focus, but directing it myself wasn't something I ever dreamed of," said Stowe, who was encouraged to take the director's chair by the film's producer, Gil Netter, Variety reported. She'll be aided in her debut by experienced cinematographer John Toll, who has been responsible for such historical epics as "Braveheart" and "The Last Samurai."
Though Stowe no longer gets to play the part for which she once turned down $5 million, she is enthusiastic about Weisz taking the role. "I saw three actresses, and knew after meeting with Rachel that she was the person I wanted to hand this role to," she told the paper.
She also managed to land her handsome male leads with a bit of lucky timing, noting, "Robert said yes last fall, before everything broke with 'Twilight.' Hugh said yes a couple of weeks ago." Filming is expected to start by the end of the year.

The film is based on a screenplay by Madeline Stowe. She was originally slated to star in the project. Variety

Please keep in mind that we do not have official confirmation from anyone on Rob’s team that he has signed officially for the project. Variety does tend to be accurate, however, and Hugh Jackman was asked about Rob playing the role and seemed to confirm it as well. Age: The character is shown first at age 10, then again at approximately 17

* As indicated in information published on the internet, Phineas was kidnapped as a child and assimilated in a Comanche tribe.
* Phineas (all descriptions here are of the character at age 17) is described as having long hair and pierced ears, presumably in the 19th-century Comanche style.
* Virtually all of his lines are in Comanche.
* The character’s Comanche name is Tsomo, which means “bead”.
* Yes, he rides a horse…bareback. He rides quite a bit, actually.
* Although the character does have a few flirtatious scenes, this is not a romantic-type role.
*  The older Phineas is in the latter parts of the script, perhaps the last third. It is definitely a supporting role.
* Our source describes the character like this: “Phineas is pretty fierce. He’s been raised as a warrior. He can be silent and standoffish, but he can throw a bit of a fit, too.”

That’s a pretty basic character breakdown. Our source felt that the role was definitely a different one for Rob and would be physical, challenging and complex.

“Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson is heading to the Cannes Film festival! The hunky actor is taking time off from shooting “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” to make his first appearance at the see-and-be-seen glamour event on the French Rivera.

But Rob better beware of Paris. Not the beautiful French capital, but celebrity party queen Paris Hilton. She’ll be there as well, and she could try to throw herself at Rob – again. Paris made a major play for him, earlier this year, but the 23-year-old British actor blew her off.


The festival opened today (May 12), with Disney/Pixar's 3Dovie “UP” leading off the show. Rob will be taking in the scene for the first time as a major star in his own right. But this year’s festival is likely to be somewhat more subdued. While some regular showbiz parties have been cancelled, the fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Chopard (as co-sponsors) and D Squared will be hosting events on or just off the Croisette, the vacation Mecca’s main promenade.

Rob, who by now is familiar with major red carpet events – he attended the Oscars for the first time this year as well – will rub shoulders with the likes of former President Bill Clinton and Pop diva Mariah Carey, who will be there to promote “Precious,” her new film.

Regulars like Sharon Stone, Donatella Versace and movie executive Harvey Weinstein will also be town, where many deals get made

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be among stars to watch. Brad will be there to promote Quentin Tarantino's World War II drama "Inglourious Basterds." Brad is starring in the film, one of 20 in the main competition for the coveted Palme d'Or, Academy Award-winner Penélope Cruz, who appears in the movie Broken Embraces,” will also be there. Now she’s Rob’s type. The film is directed by Pedro Almodovar and will be competing for the grand prize.

Actress Robin Wright Penn, a member of this year’s jury panel, will be making her first public appearance since breaking up with her estranged husband Sean Penn, who judged the competition last year.

Rob is expected to spend some time helping to shop a new film called "Remember Me," directed by Allen Coulter and produced by Nick Osborne and Trevor Engelson.

The film will be presented to a number of buyers at the festival, along with three other titles from Summit Entertainment, which produced “Twilight.”

Shooting will begin this summer in New York. Pattinson will take a break from the shooting "New Moon" and "Eclipse" to make the picture. "New Moon" wraps shooting in May while "Eclipse" begins in August.

23 Reasons To Love ‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson
On His 23rd Birthday

In case you haven’t heard, the powers that be blessed us with Robert Pattinson twenty-three years ago today. In other words, “Happy 23rd Birthday RPattz!”

I can’t physically give Robert a present, because a) I don’t know him and b) sending him a cupcake with a special message would seem really creepy.
Instead, I’ve decided to create a list in his honor.
What is this great list you may ask?
Well, I’m going to write up 23 reasons why I’m thankful for RPattz.

As you can imagine, thinking up 23 reasons why you’re thankful for someone can be quite difficult, especially when you’ve never met the person, but I found it pretty easy to dream up reasons why my pop cultured/boy-crazy life - not to mention my bulletin board and my desktop - would be super boring if Robert wasn’t born in grand old England all those years ago.

So without further adieu, I would like to present you, my fellow “Twilight” fans, these 23 reasons why we should all be thankful for Robert Pattinson:

23: I’m thankful that he won’t think I’m a weirdo (I hope) if he ever reads this blog post. (wink wink)

22: He’s friends with Camilla Bell, who’s dating Joe Jonas. The possibility that RPattz jams with a Jonas Brother is something we should all be thankful for.

21: He can totally pwn Harry Potter and kick Voldemort’s ass. Voldemort did have Cedric/RPattz murdered by Peter Pettigrew, but he had to die and be unavailable for future installments of Harry Potter, right? Robert wouldn’t have had any time to be in “Twilight” and a Harry Potter/Cedric Diggory spinoff wouldn’t be as awesome.

20: He likes to read. See everyone! Reading is fundamental!

19: He has a nice accent.

18: He always has that brooding look. It’s like he’s in pain but deep in thought at the same time. It’s kind of amazing.

17: His astrological sign is Taurus, which mean he’s dependable, romantic, passionate, and thoughtful. ‘Nuff said.

16: According to an interview with the LA Times, coughing makes him cry. Since I have asthma, coughing makes me cry too. We’re a match made in heaven.

15: He has his own grungy, laid-back style. He makes beanie hats look good.

14: Robert seems like a normal dude, someone you can have a nice chat with. He doesn’t come off like one of those Hollywood player types, which is probably why so many women are crushing on him. Remember last November when he said he hadn’t kissed a girl in a while? That’s pretty hard to believe, but it’s cute that he doesn’t know he’s gorgeous.

13: He smells like roses. Of course I don’t really know if he does or not, but he definitely doesn’t stink! Take that, haters!

12: He aspires to be like acting great Jack Nicholson. I aspire to be Jack Nicholson during my spare time too.

11: When he made his first appearance in “Twilight” and entered the cafeteria, he made us all wish that we lived in some rainy town with vampires running rampant in the woods. Sure it sounds scary, but none of that mattered as long as we could see Robert during lunch period. It made me yearn for my high school days. Oh the memories!

10: He can talk about his underwear, his toenails, and his not-so-stellar running ability on camera and still make the ladies swoon. I mean how many other heartthrobs would be willing to talk about those topics? Yeah.
None.

9: If his vampire skills ever fail him, he can always resort to his expertise in wizardry. Which makes him lethal with a wooden stick.

8: He can wear a curly cue mustache as the bizarre Salvador Dali in “Little Ashes” and still look hot.

7: He plays Edward Cullen, the sparkly immortal, who for many women is the perfect boyfriend (minus the blood sucking vampire part).

6: He can sing (swoon) really well. (You had “Never Think” on repeat! Admit it!)

5: He has the ability to look like this with a cigarette in his mouth.

4: He managed to turn the words “spider monkey” into a term of endearment. He can call me spider monkey any day.

3: His hair. Whether it’s short, long, unruly, or perfectly styled, he has FANTASTIC hair.

2: He is so awkward and seemingly shy during all of his interviews that you just want to sit him down, give him a hug and say, “It’s going to be alright. The camera won’t eat you.” That awkwardness/goofiness makes him so endearing. It’s part of his charm.

1. I know Robert is here to stay, which means I have something to occupy my time for years to come. With his upcoming projects and the rest of the flicks from the “Twilight” saga coming out in theaters, I won’t have time to twiddle my thumbs. Crushing on RPattz is like the Best Hobby. Ever!
