Hey folks, 100 Monkeys has some news. Due to demands on their personal lives and professional careers, our good friends. 

Jackson Rathbone and Jerad Anderson will be leaving the band as active members. We have much love for both and wish them well, and they will always be welcome if they should ever decide to drop in on any future shows, or make appearances on recordings. The last four years of albums, tours and other projects have truly been fantastic, and the legacy they leave behind in their work will be remembered in all of our future endeavors. We wish them the best in their future projects and anticipate great new things to come. 

Ben Johnson, Ben Graupner, and Lawrence Abrams will continue with 100 Monkeys and will be working onward with the release of the band’s new single “City of Bones,” March 12th, and a set of shows in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Las Vegas starting this April. We will be playing these as a five-piece and will announce the names of the accompanying musicians shortly. 

We really can’t tell you how much we love all of you. It is an absolute honor to have received the support and encouragement you have given us through the years, and from all of us we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We look forward to many more shows, albums,videos, books, and god knows what else we will come up with, and we look forward to sharing it with the people that matter the most, all of you.

One could even argue that Rathbone himself is leading a bit of a double life. In addition to acting and being a heartthrob for the Twilight set, Rathbone is also a musician. His band 100 Monkeys, a multi-piece funk rock band, tours often. Although, as Rathbone revealed, it sounds like he and his Twilight co-stars could have formed their very own group over the course of the years.

“Rob [Pattinson] and I have jammed quite a bit (on the set),” he says. “Miss [Kristen] Stewart is quite a guitarist and singer herself. Nikki Reed is actually a fantastic songwriter and she is an amazing singer, too, but it’s hard to get her to sing. I think I’m one of the few people that’s ever gotten her to sing. I badgered her enough. On this last movie I was teaching Ashley [Greene] a little bit about the ukulele. Kellan [Lutz] is actually taking up the guitar…We always had a good ol’ time [playing music together on the set.]“

"In the Cullen living room there is a piano and it's always occupied by Rob or myself..just sitting down and plinking out the keys. Rob is actually a fantastic pianist and guitar player and Kristen is an amazing guitar player and singer and also an amazing chef. I don't know if anybody knew this..just throwing that out into the world..she can cook!"

Dans le salon des Cullen il y a un piano et il est toujours occupé soit par Rob ou moi-même .. juste s'asseoir et faire résonner les touches. Rob est en fait un pianiste exceptionnel et un guitariste et Kristen est une guitariste et chanteuse étonnante et aussi un chef étonnant. Je ne sais pas si quelqu'un savait ce que .. juste de lancer là, au monde .. Elle sait cuisiner!

La sécurité sur le plateau est très importante mais ils ont réussi à avoir des scoops grâce à Jackson Rathbone.

Il se sent chez lui en Louisiane car il est proche de sa famille et il va retrouver son autre famille Twilight. C'est marrant car ils se font ces diners de famille. Ca peut paraître gnangnan mais ils s'amusent. Il adore Jasper car c'est un vampire qui fait ce qu'il fait par amour. Si Alice n'était pas dans sa vie , il ne serait pas végétarien.

Il n'est pas aussi poursuivi par les fans que Robert et Kristen (on frappe à leur porte de chambres d'hôtel etc..) et il met en garde les fans "Les filles, Robert n'est pas un vrai vampire. Arrêtez donc de lui demander de vous mordre. C'est un mec super sympa qui veut juste faire son boulot. Les gens pensent qu'il est vraiment Edward. C'est dur d'être à sa place".

Il s'interroge enfin sur les raisons du succès de Twilight et c'est sans doute cette notion d'éternité qui vous permet de faire tout ce que vous voulez.
