On saura jeudi 17 avril en fin de matinée si Maps to the stars, de David Cronenberg, fait partie de la compétition cannoise – euh...on y croit fort fort – mais en voici les premières images alléchantes. Deux ans après Cosmopolis, le cinéaste canadien signe sur un scénario de Bruce Wagner un film noir dans la lignée des grandes oeuvres sur Hollywood, de The Player à Mulholland drive. Une vision fantasmatique de « l'usine à rêves », un thriller immoral et déjanté, qui évoque aussi bien le vieillissement des stars que les destins « trash » des idoles « teen ». Le film est porté par une distribution de choix, notamment ses deux actrices principales, Julianne Moore et Mia Wasikowska (la vedette d'Alice au pays des merveilles de Tim Burton), mais aussi le beau Robert Pattinson.
Maps to the stars sortira en France le 21 mai.
