Robert Pattinson will be sweeping into New York City on April 17 for the premiere of "Water for Elephants." Film Director Francis Lawrence released new details today on the film, which also stars Reese Witherspoon and Christolph Waltz.
Flashpoint Entertainment and Fox 2000 Pictures also released the latest poster for the movie. This one also features Rob and Reese.
Rob is currently filming "Breaking Dawn," Part 1 and Part 2, with Kristen Stewart and the rest of the cast. They are the last two films in the series.
Meanwhile, Lawrence has been tweeting updates about the "Water for Elephants" and revealed today that the world premiere will be held in New York City on April 17. Other international premieres will follow.
He also said that editing on the film is going right down to the wire. " The movie is not done yet. Almost. Getting very close," he wrote.
The movie is Pattinson's latest outside of the "Twilight" franchise, and Rob has expressed a special affection for the film.
It's based on the historical novel by Sara Gruen and it's told through the reflections of Jacob Jankowski, who is 93 when the movie opens and living in a nursing home.
The film, however, is set during the Great Depression when Jacob, played by Rob, is hired by The Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth circus, and falls for the wife (Witherspoon) of the show's cruel animal trainer, August.
The movie will be released to theaters on April 22.
